For anyone who might be visiting Little Cayman in the future here is the basic information on a trip there.
Little Cayman Trip Information
Passport valid for 6 months past travel dates is required to enter the Cayman Islands
The exchange rate is US $1.25 = CI $1.00. Change is given in CI. Credit cards can be used as well.
Itinerary
Meet at Scuba Outfitters at 6:00am on Saturday December 5th.
We will be taking the limo over to and from the Miami airport as a group. Bring $15 each way tip for the limo driver.
Our flight leaves Miami at 10:30am.
We arrive in Grand Cayman at 12:00pm.
We depart Grand Cayman for Little Cayman at 2:15pm
We land on Little Cayman at 2:50pm.
When traveling to Cayman Brac or Little Cayman via the Twin Otter Service; Baggage allowance is 55 lbs per person and only one 15 lb carry-on, any excess will be charged $.50 US per pound.
We will be picked up at the Little Cayman airport by a van and taken to Little Cayman Beach Resort.
A credit card must be presented at check in at the resort for purchases at the bar or dive center.
Return Trip
Depart Little Cayman at 10:55am on December 12th.
Arrive in Grand Cayman at 11:30am.
Depart Grand Cayman at 1:50pm.
Arrive in Miami at 3:10pm.
Meal Schedule
Breakfast 7am – 8:30am
Lunch 12:30am – 1:30pm
Dinner 6:30pm – 8:00pm
All meals are made from scratch and served buffet style. You will not be disappointed!
Dive Schedule
Morning boat leaves at 8:15am.
Afternoon boat leaves at 2:00pm.
Two dives in the morning and one dive in the afternoon are included in the trip.
Nitrox can be purchased on island for $10 per tank or $140 for the week.
What to bring
Mask, Snorkel, Boots, Fins, Bcd, Reg, Computer/gauges, underwater light, camera equipment with charger and extra batteries, and wetsuit. Water temp is around 81 degrees.
Sunglasses, Sunscreen, personal bathroom stuff, extra contact lenses, and an extra pair of glasses.
Items purchased on island are limited and very expensive. Try not to forget anything.
The temperature is similar to Naples. Pack light clothes and bring a light jacket or pullover.
There is no need to bring any dress clothes. Everywhere is very casual.
Remember you are limited to 55lbs per person and a 15lb carry on.
Tipping
15% - 20% pretty much the same as the U.S.
The boat charter averages $588 so the tip per diver would be $120. The resort divides the tip between the crew.
Tipping the bar tenders can be done per night or at the end of the week.
The limo driver’s tip is $15pp each way.
